Criticism to Commendation

This week as we continue in our study of Acts we come to Acts 11:1-18. In the text we see Peter criticized for eating with Gentiles, his explanation for doing so, and the criticizers turned into glorifying God. They conclude, "Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life" (Acts 11:18). Like those in the circumcision party, we too can be quick to critique and complain, but God in his grace and patience leads us to repentance. We can be stand with joyful confidence as we see that the advance of the gospel is the unstoppable plan of God. May we respond in praise and rejoicing that God's purposes will not fail. His gospel is sufficient. He's not defeated so we don't have to live defeated.
