A Life Before God

This week, as we continue in our study through the book of Acts, we consider the story of Paul before the Sanhedrin. Paul declares, "Brothers, I have lived my life before God in all good conscience up to this day" (Acts 23:1). Paul describes that he is on trial with respect to the hope and the resurrection of the dead. He has testified in Jerusalem that Jesus is the Messiah and will go on to testify in Rome. Through the trials and dissensions, Paul's assignment was to share the good news about Jesus Christ.

From the story, Cary encourages us that when we are going through trials and tough situations, we can take courage that Jesus knows us, Jesus is with us, Jesus is for us, and Jesus isn't finished with us. We can know God and His will for our life through the Holy Scriptures. Like Paul, we too are called to testify and live our lives in good conscience before God, submitting ourselves to the Holy Word of God and depending upon the Holy Spirit.
