Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT KIND OF COUNSELING DO YOU PROVIDE?
We provide a kind of counseling we would call Christian or Christ-centered counseling. Christian counseling is a form of counseling in which Jesus and his teaching is central to answering our psychological, emotional, and relational problems. We are not licensed by the state or considered professional counseling, (though we are very grateful for the work of psychologists and psychotherapists in learning about mental health). We don't seek to ignore science and research, but seek to have Jesus, through His Word, form the foundation and source who can help us handle our personal and relational problems. We believe Jesus provides the forgiving mercy, wisdom, and power we need for daily living.

IS THERE A FINANCIAL COST?
There are no fees for our counseling. Through the regular, generous giving of our church members, we are able and delighted to offer counseling free of charge. While there will be no fees for counseling, we welcome financial gifts to our church to help cover various costs (training, materials, childcare for our counselors, etc.).

WHO ARE OUR COUNSELORS?
Our counselors include our pastor and members of The Mountain Church. Each of our male and female counselors has completed a training program in biblical counseling, receives ongoing continuing education training, and each receives oversight and consultation help from our Resident Counselor, Christian Bringolf LMHC.
