Counseling vision and information

The Mountain Church desires to be a church that grows in grace. We want to see lives flourish in a culture and environment of grace. We want to be a community that is so gripped by the grace of God that it affects how we relate and treat one another. We aim to grow in grace that brings humility, joy, freedom, and confidence. We believe this culture can look like being open about struggles, demonstrating a willingness to be helped, and a commitment to counseling. We believe a key component of helping our church grow in grace as well as serving our community is a commitment to biblical counseling. We provide church based, Christ-centered biblical counseling to individuals, couples, and families.

  • What is Christ-Centered Counseling?

Christ-centered counseling is a form of counseling in which Jesus is held out as the answer to our psychological, emotional, and relational problems. We are grateful and appreciate the work of psychologists and psychotherapists in learning about mental health. We don't seek to ignore science and research, but seek to have Jesus, through His Word, form the foundation and authority who can help us handle our personal and relational problems. We believe Jesus provides the forgiving mercy, wisdom, and power we need for daily living.

A biblical counselor is an individual who seeks to reflect the love, kindness, and compassion of Jesus. Biblical counseling is a caring process marked by Christ-like love, wisdom, and concern.

  • is there a financial cost?

There are no fees for our counseling ministry. Through the regular, generous giving of our church members, we are able and delighted to offer counseling free of charge. While there will be no fees for counseling, we welcome financial gifts to our church to help cover various costs (training, materials, childcare for our counselors, etc.).

  • Who are our counselors?

Our counselors include our pastors and members of The Mountain Church. Each of our male and female counselors has completed a training program in biblical counseling, receives ongoing continuing education training, and each receives oversight and consultation help from our Resident Counselor, Christian Bringolf LMHC.
