Hosea Redeems His Wife

Feb 8, 2026    Daniel Englehart

This morning we continue in our study through the book of Hosea as we consider Hosea 3:1-5. We see in Hosea 3, what the love of God is like. We’re confronted with a love that seems unreasonable, emotionally risky, and intellectually scandalous. We learn about the love of God that's reflected in Hosea. Through Hosea, we see a love that pursues the unlovely, pays the costly price of redemption, and promises restoration after a season of discipline and purification.

Ultimately, this love is fulfilled and displayed in Jesus Christ. God shows His love for us in Jesus' redeeming us on the cross. We can know that God loves us and believe that He still loves us even after we fail Him because of Jesus' work of redemption. Since we have been redeemed, we come in fear to the Lord and to His goodness. We tremble in awe of God and His goodness. We come in fear not because He is harsh or cruel, but because He is so good. May God give us grace to seek Him and be moved in awe by His redeeming love.
