Absalom's Revolt

We continue in the story of Samuel, looking at 2 Samuel 15 today. The text describes Absalom's conspiracy and revolt. In the midst of Absalom's conspiracy, David keeps his faith in God. He acknowledges and confesses in the Lord's provision and plan for his life. He displays deep emotion, yet relates to God through prayer. We can keep our trust in God through betrayals, suffering, and personal loss as we think about God's redemptive purposes for pain. As we see how the story points to Jesus, we're shown how gracious, kind, and merciful God is to rebels like us. Jesus gave his life for those who betrayed and rebelled against him. In Jesus we can trust in His goodness through our suffering and pain.
