Remain and Aim

This morning we begin a new study through the first letter of Paul to Timothy. Our sermon text today is 1 Timothy 1:1-11. The Apostle Paul urges Timothy, his true child in the faith, to correct false teaching and not allow any different doctrines in the church. Paul wants the church to grow in love that comes from a pure heart, good conscience, and sincere faith, and not wonder away into vain discussion. Paul also seeks to correct the misuse of the law. Sound doctrine is healthy teaching that promotes love for God and for others in the church.
